We are pleased to announce our new XS series of virtual private servers.
XS plan virtual private servers offer the same resources/dollar as our VS series of OpenVZ VPS.
See this page for a comparison of the two technologies.
The XS series are based on Xen 3.4.x, and have a new set of exciting features, such as:
We are in the process of migrating our existing Xen customers over to the new plans,
so if you haven’t already received an email, you will soon!
If you have any questions, simply open a support ticket.
A new feature has been added to the QCP to uncompress your backups and make them available on an SSL encrypted FTP login. For those of you that asked for easy access to your backups, just click the button, login, and download. The backup is uncompressed as well, in case you just needed a few files.
Documention is here: Self Service Backups
We’ve just rolled out the ability to clone your backups to other virtual servers under the same QCP login.
This is a great feature if you would like to start with one build, and quickly ramp up a number of VPS’s by cloning it.
Documentation on backups is found here.
We’ve updated our documentation portal:
http://docs.quantact.com
It includes links to new tutorials on how to get started with your new VPS, as well as some updated ones.
Drop us a line if you would like to see any others written!
We’ve added a port monitor for IP addresses in the QCP, under Network.
This service will monitor ports on your server every 10 minutes, and notify you if a port is down.
At 2009-11-24 14:40:08 PST, the following port(s) were down when the monitor polled:
1.2.3.4:80 1.2.3.4:110
Fedora 12 and an updated Gentoo are now available for use.
Fedora 12 brings a number of updated software packages, as well as new projects on the edge of Linux development.
The Gentoo template is an update to a more recent build.
The QCP has been redesigned!
We’ve added a number of new features, merged the Xen and OpenVZ control panels onto one set of pages, and made it easier than ever to administer your server.
Some of the new features are great time savers. You may Create/Delete/Upgrade/Downgrade a virtual server at any time, without the need for a help ticket.
We’ve upgraded our network security scanner to use the OpenVAS software, updated the DNS wizard, and made Backups scheduleable to run automatically.
More features are on the way!
Quantact has a new look!
We’re redesigned our site to be easier to navigate, and easier to find information.
We added this blog, updated our forums software, and added our Docs portal.
